The Stones Roses form part of this year's headline acts Organisers of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have announced Blur, The Stone Roses, Phoenix and Red Hot Chili Peppers as the headline acts for 2013.

The 14th annual music festival will attract more than 80,000 people to the desert town of Indio, California. It will be the second year of splitting the event into two identical weekends to accommodate high demand for tickets. Weekend one will take place 12-14 April and weekend two will be 19-21 April.

Blur reformed for live shows in 2009 after members went their separate ways following the recording of 2003's Think Tank. They also performed an Olympic closing concert in London's Hyde Park in the summer of 2012.

The Stone Roses played their first live shows in 2012 after 15 years apart.  Their date in California is part of a wider tour, which will also see shows at London's Finsbury Park and Glasgow Green in June.  Other names on the Coachella festival bill include Alt-J, the XX, Hot Chip, La Roux, James Blake, Paul Oakenfold and Of Monsters And Men. Other additions over the weekend include rap veterans Wu-Tang Clan, Jake Bugg, Sigur Ros, The Lumineers, Moby, Band of Horses, Jessie Ware and Biffy Clyro.
