Laneway Singapore

Singapore is a relatively recent addition to the St Jerome’s Laneway circuit, and has so far proved a success. Known simply as Laneway, the Australian festival started life in 2004 in Melbourne as an indie event, soon expanded to several other cities, and now to Singapore and Detroit in the United States.

 It is named after the bar, St Jerome’s, in Melbourne where the festival organisers used to work – the gigs they put on there became so popular that the crowd frequently spilled out into the laneway outside. 2014 was the festival’s biggest year ever, with most events sold out. Acts performing included Haim and Lorde. The line-up for 2015 includes Sydney duo Flight Facilities and British artist FKA twigs.
