Edward Biberman, Abbot Kinney and the story of Venice
LOS ANGELES, USA - Recently restored and on display at LACMA is Edward Biberman’s mural, Abbot Kinney and the Story of Venice.
The monumental 1941 work depicts the city founder Kinney’s vision for Venice, California as a cultural centre of the west coast.
The piece was originally created for the Venice post office, and was commissioned by the Treasury Department’s Section of Fine Arts. The mural is accompanied by further exhibits that put Biberman’s influence into a wider context.
