Bahia: the future of internet

On November 26 and 27, the Brazilian city of Salvador (BA) holds the first of three annual workshops scheduled to happen along the FIBRE timeframe.

Funded by the Brazilian government and the European Commission under the FP7 programme, the project was conceived to design, implement and validate a shared infrastructure for Future Internet experimentation for European and Brazilian researchers.

The objective of the Workshop is to bring together the academic community and industrial partners interested in Future Internet topics and show the first results of FIBRE, which experimental network (testbed) is scheduled to be operational in early 2013. The workshop includes sessions targeted to industry players and policy makers, short courses and a live demonstration between Brazil and Europe.

We also welcome poster proposals of any work related to Future Internet experimentation, in experience or evidence (even if not yet developed on top of FIBRE or federated testbeds). Registration is free of charge! (limited to 100 participants. Lunch is not included.) You can follow the workshop news on Twitter: @FIBRE_project.
